Frequently Asked Questions
You Take Care of Patients. We Take Care of Everything Else.
Wondering how DoctorsFirm works, who it’s for, or whether it’s the right fit? Here are the questions doctors ask us most before getting started.
Who is DoctorsFirm actually for?
DoctorsFirm is for physicians at any career stage, especially early-career doctors navigating contracts, job decisions, finances, and life logistics for the first time. If you are tired of piecing everything together alone, this is built for you.
Is this only for burned-out doctors?
No. Many members are doing well on paper but want clarity, protection, and better decision-making before problems arise.
Do I need to use every service?
No. Support is tailored to your career stage and priorities. You use what’s relevant when it’s relevant.
How does this work across different career stages?
Support evolves with you, from early career decisions to mid-career complexity and eventual transition or exit planning.
What makes DoctorsFirm different from a recruiter, financial advisor, or coach?
Most people help in one lane. DoctorsFirm starts with your full picture — career goals, family priorities, finances, lifestyle, and long-term direction — and carries that context across the whole process. You get one advocate coordinating the moving parts, not disconnected advice.
Can you help me figure out if a job is actually the right fit?
Yes. We help you evaluate practice fit, culture, mentorship, workload, location, and long-term opportunity—not just title or compensation. The goal is not just getting an offer, but choosing the right one.
Do you offer help with the job interview process?
Yes. We help you prepare, know what questions to ask, identify gaps or red flags, and use what you learn in interviews to guide your next decision. Interview prep is shaped by your goals, not a generic script.
Is this advice or hands-on help?
Both. Your doctor-agent provides advocacy and coordination, and actively handles the follow-through. This is not generic advice. We take responsibility for making sure things get done.
Do you replace my existing advisors?
Not necessarily. DoctorsFirm can coordinate with trusted advisors or help you identify better-aligned ones if needed.
Is this confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is foundational. Conversations and decisions are handled with discretion and physician-level privacy.
Why was DoctorsFirm created?
It was created by physicians who experienced firsthand how unsupported doctors are outside clinical work and wanted to build a better model.
Are you still practicing doctors?
Yes. Leadership comes from physicians who understand medicine from the inside, not from outside advisory roles.
Is DoctorsFirm affiliated with hospitals or institutions?
No. DoctorsFirm is independent and advocates solely for doctors' best interests, with no institutional affiliations or conflicts.
How involved are the founders day to day?
Leadership remains actively involved in setting standards, guiding strategy, and maintaining the physician-first culture of the firm.
How is doctor confidentiality protected?
Strictly. Partner access is limited, intentional, and governed by physician-first privacy standards.
Who is a good fit to join DoctorsFirm?
Physicians who want to use their clinical experience to advocate for fellow doctors, as well as legal, financial, and operational professionals who have a genuine track record of working with and caring about physicians. Alignment with the mission matters more than any single credential.
Do I need concierge or coaching experience?
No. We care far more about relevant expertise, real-world experience, and genuine alignment with the mission than prior concierge or coaching background. We provide the structure. You bring the commitment.
Are roles full-time or part-time?
It depends on the role. Many positions, particularly physician doctor-agent roles, are flexible and designed to integrate alongside existing clinical or professional work. Operations and coordination roles may be more structured. We discuss this openly during the application process.
How is confidentiality handled?
Strictly. Every team member operates under rigorous confidentiality standards. Physician members share sensitive personal and professional information with us and that trust is non-negotiable. We expect the same standard from everyone on the team.
Is this a paid referral network?
No. DoctorsFirm is not a marketplace. Partnerships are built on trust, alignment, and coordinated care, not transactional referrals.
What types of partners are you looking for?
Professionals who already work with physicians and have a genuine track record of serving them well. We look for legal, financial, recruiting, relocation, wellness, and other service providers who prioritize long-term relationships and physician-specific expertise over volume.
How are doctors introduced to partners?
Introductions are made by the physician member's doctor-agent when a specific need arises and a partner is the right fit. Introductions come with full context so the first conversation is productive, not exploratory.
How is physician confidentiality protected?
Partner access to physician information is limited, intentional, and governed by strict confidentiality standards. Partners receive only the context needed to serve the member well. Nothing more.
